We - that's the Schmidt family and their colourful KREUZ bunch.

Horst Schmidt is a passionate chef, networker and family man through and through. His wife Daniela is a visionary, garden fairy and creative soul who brings a breath of fresh air into the house. With son Hugo, the fifth generation is already in the starting blocks, even if he still prefers to be on the playground than in the kitchen. Marlies, the boss's big sister, knows the KREUZ inside out and is always on hand when there's a need - or when guests need a friendly smile. A real family business!

Our team.

We are a motley crew of authentic people who have one thing in common: we want to make our guests happy. If we can do that, then so can we. Some of us come from here, others from somewhere completely different - but at KREUZ we all pull together. We laugh together, help each other, respect each other and get stuck in. Anyone who wants to be a part of it is very welcome: Good people in a good mood will always find a place with us.

The history of the Hotel-Landgasthof KREUZ

Our roots.

The KREUZ is one of the oldest inns in Baden-Württemberg - it has been serving, catering and accommodating guests since 1450. Even before Columbus discovered America! In 1920, our family took over the estate with its adjoining restaurant. In the mid-1970s, our parents finally converted the farm building into a hotel. Today, massive wooden beams and high ceilings still tell of the past, while our rooms offer modern comfort with solid wood furniture, regional fabrics and great attention to detail. This is how we combine our tradition with the present - and make the KREUZ a real home from home for future generations.

From the country.

What we serve on our table often grows just a few fields away. Our eggs come from the neighbour, the meat from the Allgäu, the potatoes from the field next door. We know all our suppliers personally and are proud to have been a LandZunge member from the very beginning. Wherever possible, we act sustainably, regionally and use products from the neighbourhood - so that our homeland remains the way we love it, even for the generations after us.
