A colourful variety grows in our own herb garden, including more unusual varieties, which find their way directly onto our guests' plates.
Every morning, our kitchen team sets out to harvest fresh herbs. The scent that wafts through the air is just a small foretaste of the intense flavours that will later be found in our dishes. Sometimes delicate, sometimes strong in flavour - whatever is in season is harvested. Anyone who has ever tried our homemade herb cheese spaetzle knows that there is much more to it than just a little "green stuff".
By the way: Every month from April to October, we organise our "Mattenhaus Herb Evening" - you have to experience it!

Whether indoors or outdoors - everyone will find their favourite spot at the KREUZ. In our parlour, you can still feel the charm of the old inn that has been welcoming guests for centuries. Our beer garden is the open-air centrepiece in summer: with swings at the tables, heated seats and plenty of greenery all around.
If you have something special to celebrate, the old bakery is the perfect cosy spot - a lovingly restored gem hidden between the herb garden and the inn. No matter where you sit, we are always about coming together, savouring and enjoying a piece of home for a while.
